After giving up her big city job as a book editor, Tess is thriving as a substation designer. One day Tess is challenged to take over an almost impossible project : to build a new substation and have it working before Christmas so they can power an orphanage. Tess loves a challenge and will make that happen.
But the first problem walks into her workshop in the form of Grant Fletcher. Grant is tall and good looking, and the way he fills out a pair of arc resistant overalls would catch the eye of any woman. He will oversee the construction of the station, and it is obvious by the way he looks at her, he wants to construct something else with her as well. A little harmless flirting is one thing, but after Grant accidentally saw her dancing in that nightclub, Tess knew that she revealed a little too much of herself. Tess has been on her own for a while, and Grant feels like an electromagnet, pulling her in.
Can Tess design a substation in time to give all those orphans a Christmas they will remember? And what happened to the original designer who started this work? With Grant continually distracting her, Tess will have to decide if Grant is just a momentary plaything, or is his desire more in phase with hers. Tess knows she has to focus, but Tess’s heart seems to have a mind of its own. Will a functional high voltage electrical substation be enough of Christmas gift, or will Tess wrap her heart around it and tie her heart into a bow?
